Tuesday, December 02, 2008 20:17:21 GMT Kids learn from their parents, throughout their lives. Kids of all ages observe. Many of us live our lives echoing the actions of our parents, as well as making sure we don’t make the same mistakes our parents did. It was all Mom’s fault, that I became so dedicated [...]

Friday, October 24, 2008 20:36:55 GMT Looking back, I am so glad I pushed ahead. I almost committed myself too early to a larger weight, because I really didn’t want to give up my entire wardrobe (so I told myself). Like many gals, I love my clothes, and through the years I invested a great [...]

Thursday, October 23, 2008 21:36:12 GMT We take weight-loss motivation where ever we can get it. I admit: I am addicted to The Biggest Loser TV show. In fact, The Biggest Loser helped me pinpoint many of the “smarter choices” I now incorporate into each meal. It helped me realize I didn’t need to make [...]

Thursday, Oct 16 2008 17:13:47 GMT Like so many things in life, getting fit (staying fit) isn’t easy. Whenever I find myself starting to whine, complain or (ahem) curse during a workout, I catch myself, stop the negativity, and say out loud, “I love the results.” That has become my reaffirming mantra, “I love the [...]

Wednesday, Oct 15, 2008 20:59:17 GMT Yesterday I popped into the salon and asked, “When can Garry fit me in for a hair cut?” The gal paused, looked me in the eye and replied, “I’m so sorry. Garry … died several weeks ago. He had a heart attack.” Perplexed. Then bewildered. Then, the WHAM of [...]
The 5-Step Regrets Test (to Keep From Dwelling in Coulda, Woulda, Shoulda Land)

Wednesday, October 8, 2008 18:13:48 GMT By having a clear life goal, “I intend to live with as few regrets as possible,” I dwell less on the coulda woulda shouldas. Before I make a decision, I often give it the “5-Step Regrets Litmus Test”: If I do this, or don’t do this, will I have [...]

Friday, August 22, 2008 23:11:34 GMT Part of my motivation to lose 40 pounds this last year was a photo of my two brothers, deliberately posed stomach to stomach, each looking … very pregnant. Forgive my politically incorrect, seemingly insensitive irreverence. Everyone thinks it: I’m just the baby sister deliberately crossing the line and voicing [...]
